Why “Atlas”?
Many people have asked why I chose the name Atlas Chiropractic? this was an easy choice for me back when I opened our doors in 2010. It beautifully connects a favourite family memory to the personalised care we provide every single day.
Before becoming a chiropractor, I spent years managing Atlas Bar, a vibrant, popular café bar in Manchester, England. That special space was actually designed by my brother, a well-known Manchester architect, so the name has always been close to my heart.
When it came time to open my own practice, the name felt like destiny. In anatomy, the “Atlas” is the very top bone in your neck that supports your head. Just like a beautiful building needs a solid foundation, your body relies on a healthy, aligned spine to function at its best.
Building a Different Kind of Practice
After graduating as a chiropractor and working in other clinics, I realised I wanted to do things a bit differently. I wanted to open a space where I could truly flourish by using the full range of effective techniques I learned at university, rather than being boxed into just one specific style. That is why I started Atlas Chiropractic to be a slower-paced, relaxed environment where I could spend more time ensuring every patient got the dedicated care and attention they deserved.
Passing the Torch to Wade
In late 2016, an exciting new chapter began when I sold the business to my colleague Wade Sparg. Wade was my mentee throughout his final university days, and he came to work alongside me right after he graduated. Passing the torch to him made perfect sense as he shared the same passion for our patient community and the foundational values the clinic was built on.
Coming Home to Atlas
After a brief six-month stint back in the UK, I returned to Australia and couldn’t stay away from the community we built. Today, I am proud to be working at Atlas Chiropractic as a subcontractor. Working alongside all of the other amazing staff members allows me to focus purely on what I love most: listening to your needs, and providing customised, family-friendly chiropractic care in the environment I originally dreamed up all those years ago.
